Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of soft body tissues (muscle, connective tissue, tendons and ligaments) to enhance a person’s health and well-being. There are many types of massage therapy methods (also called modalities). People seek massage therapy for a variety of reasons; for example, to reduce stress and anxiety, to relax muscles, to rehabilitate injuries, to reduce pain and to promote overall health and wellness.

Massage therapy has been growing in popularity among chiropractors. Many chiropractors have their “in-house” massage therapist to work alongside. The benefits of working together on musculoskeletal issues not only quickens the treatment time but also has longer lasting effects. While chiropractors focus more on the musculoskeletal issues, massage therapists can assist with soft tissue and muscle issues.

NICOLE BECKER, LMP

Hi, my name is Nicole Becker and I am a Licensed Massage Practitioner. I graduated from Yakima Valley Body Therapy Institute in 2009 and have been a therapist ever since. I have worked in both Spa and medical settings, but I enjoy the medical aspect more because it focuses on specific areas and you really get to see the progress of your patients. I perform various types of massage: deep tissue massage, Swedish massage, sports and clinical massage, pregnancy massage, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, whiplash therapy, low back pain, neck pain, and shoulder pain. I am married, have two kids and a dog. I am currently going to school for my AA in physical therapist assisting. I enjoy camping in the summer and winter, skiing, traveling, hosting get together and watching my kids participate in athletics.

Nicole is on the Premera and Kaiser panels and all auto insurances, as well as some other insurances.
